Your Key Accountabilities
As part of Umicore's global Communications team, you will play a key role in supporting both the operational effectiveness of the department and its media relations activities. The role will focus on strengthening project coordination, improving ways of working, enhancing knowledge management, and media relations support to ensure continuity, resilience, and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain an overview of key communications projects, priorities, timelines, and dependencies across the Communications department.
- Develop and maintain project roadmaps, dashboards, reporting tools, and support effective follow-up on deliverables and action plans.
- Support teams in defining and tracking KPIs, interpreting performance data, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to messaging consistency by supporting the development of communication materials, summaries, presentations, and background documents.
- Drive knowledge management activities, ensuring key information, templates, resources, and documentation remain accessible and up to date.
- Monitor media coverage, stakeholder discussions, and relevant external developments.
- Prepare media monitoring reports, briefings, summaries, and other materials.
- Maintain media databases, engagement records, Q&A repositories, key messages, and communication templates.
- Coordinate media-related requests, support spokesperson preparation, and ensure timely follow-up of communication actions.
Who we are looking for
- University degree in Communications, Corporate Affairs, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in a communications, corporate affairs, media, public relations, business, or similar environment. Prior media relations experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate priorities, stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
- Excellent organizational skills and a passion for improving processes, workflows, and operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with KPIs, dashboards, data, and performance insights.
- Excellent writing, synthesis, and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise materials for diverse audiences.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and coordinate effectively across functions and stakeholder groups.
- Proactive, curious, adaptable, and reliable, with sound judgment, discretion, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
