What you will be doing

As Director Product Technology & Industrialization (PTI) and Analytical Competence center (ACC) you will support the growth of RBM by defining and implementing the BU’s strategy with regard to precursor and cathode product industrialization and analytical development/excellence. 

  • Be responsible for the definition and planning of the respective PTI and ACC roadmaps and coordinate the industrialization on a global scale of the required product and analytical technologies (and related competences) needed for RBM production plants today and tomorrow.
  • Be in charge of a wide portfolio of product industrialization and analytical activities, focused on the following 6  pillars:  
    • PTI: Industrialization of newly developed products and related processes
    • PTI: Industrialization, globalization and production improvement of MP products and processes (incl 4M changes)
    • PTI: Process control to guarantee stable production
    • ACC: Development (and industrialization) of new analytical methods to support new product/process development
    • ACC: Development of new/improved sampling methodologies, process and infrastructure
    • ACC: Analytical excellence and design/implementation of the “Lab of the Future”
  • As an excellent leader you will manage the international/global PTI and ACC Teams, consisting of domain managers, program/project managers, technology experts and engineers/technologists in Belgium, Korea, China, Poland and Finland.
  • Set-up and execute the cross-border management of the PTI and ACC teams; ensure that the adequate organization is put in place to meet the ambitions and objectives and assure a high-quality functioning of the team by adequate team/people coaching and development.

Who we are looking for

  • MSc degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, or engineering
  • Over 10 years working experience within the domains of project management, product industrialization and/or analytics
  • Business acumen and good understanding of R&D management and organization
  • Strong leadership and people management/coaching skills, both hierarchically and in multi-functional/multi-cultural environments   
  • Project management, organizing, planning and coordination skills
  • Pronounced influencing and convincing skills
  • Proven aptitude to leading several project teams through a multi-year roadmap 
  • Experience in managing global development projects with significant financial value and complicated structure
  • Expertise in transferring of R&D processes to pilot and industrial scale
  • Expertise in Li-ion battery materials, their manufacturing processes or product design is a plus
  • Good understanding of statistical methods 
  • ‘Make it happen’ attitude 
  • Fluent writing and speaking in English
