What you will be doing 

  • Support the HR, what we call P&O (People and Organization) Operations EU&SA with a strong focus on Belgium but including as well small & mid-sized entities in the region in the implementation and execution of effective and efficient P&O Operations projects for various P&O processes within a value stream of areas (including but not limited to the management of P&O IS tools, payroll, finance related P&O matters, talent onboarding, Neocase, Successfactors, ….) within the global service delivery model.
  • Take ownership of P&O Operations daily activities.
  • Act as a first point of contact for local General Managers, Finance/Tax and (external) audits.
  • Manage the implementation and ensure the execution of the MICR procedures by the local P&O Advisors and P&O experts. 

 

This position contributes to the planning, setup and growth of the planning, payroll, projects, ensuring scalability, effectiveness and efficiency in a customer oriented way to support Umicore’s strategy. Focus is on efficiency and working on automating manual tasks. Your focus will be on Belgium & Europe but you will be potentially working representing the Region on global projects and process activities.

 

Responsibilities  

Effective management of P&O Operations projects and process activities 

  • Take ownership of P&O Operations activities like payroll & benefits for our different entities in Belgium.
  • Coordinate the daily P&O Operations activities in SM entities of the region with the different local P&O Operations colleagues.
  • Lead projects related to P&O Operations processes, in close collaboration with the teams involved.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborations in and out of P&O in Umicore. Be the experienced P&O Operations contact for the local General Managers and the local Finance Managers.
  • Promote and support services offered, address issues and create strong partnerships within P&O throughout the region/scope.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of the projects and outputs, both from the internal teams and external parties.
  • Partner with vendors, analyze and evaluate their services delivered (including invoice management), challenge the status quo, ensuring continous operational improvements.
  • Take responsibility for project management and documentation (process maps, procedures, forms, roles and responsibilities alignment) and change management like education/communication/rollout.
  • Act as problem solver for any P&O Operations related issue.
  • Design and implement scalable, standardized processes that foster agility and sustainability across the P&O function.
  • Implement and guarantee MICR procedures in the different local teams of the region.
  • Initiate proactively and systematic improvement of processes and systems to better meet objectives with operational excellence practices.
  • Ensure data privacy standards and practices are respected
  • Generate relevant reports for different purposes but not limited to Finance, Works Counsel
  • Prepare proactive data analytics and metrics and continuously monitor said metrics.
  • Promote a culture of data-driven P&O by embedding analytics in project planning and monitoring cycles.
  • Work in an agile methodology to succeed and deliver projects

 

Who we are looking for

Functional requirements:

  • P&O Operations expertise in specific domain – experience and knowledge of quality and regulations as applicable.
  • Knowledge of time management & time systems
  • Payroll knowledge
  • Preferred knowledge of SAPHR, Time, Neocase and other tools
  • Project management expertise (certifications are a plus)
  • P&O operational and administration knowledge
  • Operational Excellence practices knowledge
  • Some experience and willingness around knowledge management, technology usage and data quality stewardship
  • Solid risk management awareness and experience and demonstrated acumen around mitigating risks
  • Solid understanding of technology and in extend P&O technologies
  • Language capabilities – Dutch, English and French
