What will you be doing
Based in our HQ in Brussels, within the Global Finace Services (GFS) of Corporate Finance, the Order-to-Cash (OTC), Payment Factory (PF) and Master Data Management (MDM) Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial process of cash reconciliations, payments and master data. This role ensures the efficient and effective execution of these accounting processes,  contributing to the overall financial health and operational excellence of the company. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Order-to-Cash (OTC) Management:
    • Oversee the processes of bank statement reconciliation, cash allocation, creation of service invoicing, dunning, factoring processs and advanced payment management for those Umicore legal entities under the scope of GFS
    • Ensure processes are accurately performed within required deadlines and proactively resolve any possible roadblocks
    • Manage relationships with key stakeholders within Finance (Treasury Team, Tax, Group Control) and the Business Units (Controllers) to resolve any issues related to OTC processes
    • Ensure accountability for internal controls within the OTC process
    • Report monthly on KPI and provide solutions to improve operations 
  • Master Data Management (MDM):
    • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and governance of master data in S4 Hana MDG tool
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company SOP and work instructions
    • Implement and maintain MDM best practices and standards
    • Ensure accountability for KPI and provide solutions to improve operations 
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage internal and external resources of the OTC and MDM teams, providing guidance, training, and support
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
    • Foster a culture of psychological safety and empowerment within the team
    • Ensure sufficient back-up and task rotations within the team

 

What we are looking for

  • A junior manager who has already 2-3 years experience within a Finance department, either as controller, operational finance manager, credit manager or accounts payable manager
  • Master degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus
  •  Proven experience in managing financial OTC and MDM processes with eye for detail and accuracy
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, data management tools).
