RTR Business Operations Support Junior Manager

Purpose of the Role 

 

Support the implementation and operations of Umicore’s Record to Report (RTR) processes within the Global Finance Services (GFS) organization, ensuring high-quality financial services and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.

 

Strategic Focus 

  • Drive continuous improvement and harmonization of RTR processes, including General Ledger, Provisions & Accruals, and Fixed Assets.
  • Support the Fixed Asset Manager in process optimization and roadmap execution.
  • Act as a regional accounting expert for specific topics.

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Record to Report (60%) 

  • Strengthen and expand BOS function scope.
  • Design and harmonize RTR processes.
  • Oversee daily operations: general ledger, payroll, financial reporting.
  • Lead and mentor nearshore finance team.
  • Manage month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
  • Liaise with auditors and stakeholders.
  • Support audit preparation and documentation.
  • Manage financial systems and participate in projects.

 

Fixed Asset Processes (40%)

  • Supervise daily fixed asset operations (capitalization, depreciation, disposals, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate asset reporting.
  • Drive harmonization and digitalization of asset processes.
  • Act as backup to Fixed Asset Manager.
  • Scope & Interfaces
  • Work across multiple business units, company codes, and currencies using SAP UMP.
  • Collaborate with GFS colleagues, BU finance teams, corporate departments (Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR), external service providers, auditors, and government authorities.

 

Your Profile 

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in finance/accounting, 2+ years in a supervisory SSC role.
  • Expertise in RTR and Asset Accounting.
  • Experience with S/4HANA and related tools.
  • Strong understanding of shared services and change management.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and local GAAP is a plus.
