Our Global Finance Services (GFS) is currently responsible for the finance activities (General Accounting and reporting, Accounts Payables, Payment Factory/Order to Cash/Masterdata management, Forex & Intercompany reconciliation) of the Umicore entities located in Europe and North America. Through operation excellence we have embarked into a transformational journey aimed to increase value to our internal customer within Umicore. Our team is primarily helping our internal colleagues to ensure they can focus on  the upstream activities by delivering our services on time and accurate.

What will you be doing

Join our team as a Senior Accounting Manager and take the lead in financial compliance, reporting, and process optimization. You will oversee accounting operations for the group ultimate parent entity hosting corporate and manufacturing activities in Belgium, as well as subsidiaries in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.

1. Financial Oversight & Compliance – Serve as the senior accounting manager for legal entities in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, tax regulations, and other statutory reporting requirements.
2. Closing & Reporting – Oversee monthly IFRS closings, validate P&L and balance sheet accuracy, and provide financial analysis to support business decision-making.
3. Process Optimization & Standardization – Collaborate with accounting back office, centers of excellence and Global Process Owner teams to align local and global reporting standards, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency.
4. Audit & Internal Controls – Act as the primary contact for audits and regulatory reporting while ensuring strong internal controls and adherence to corporate policies.
5. Strategic Leadership – Lead  entity forecasting processe, support tax compliance in coordination with Group Tax, and monitor financial health of assigned legal entities

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• CPA title is an asset.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controlling, preferably in an industrial environment with a focus on cost accounting and cash flow management.
• Strong knowledge of digital finance, controlling, and operational management systems.
• Experience with SAP modules and other financial tools.
• Strong change management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Proven experience in project management and cross-department collaboration.
• Skilled in team organization, coaching, and leadership.
• Proactive, independent, and self-driven with a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Effective in multicultural and international environments.
