What will you be doing

As a member of the Group Control and Performance Management team, the Senior Manager will support the delivery of performance analysis & reporting to top management (Management Board and Supervisory Board) and contribute to the Digitalization Transformation of the department.

You will focus on execution excellence regarding the timely and accurate collection and processing of the financial key performance indicators of the Group. You will apply innovative tools to analyse the results and will be a networking partner, interacting continuously with the businesses and departments to understand the performance drivers. You will interpret, visualize and present the performance indicators to management. In view of the automation and digitalization trends within Finance, and implement new technologies to increase efficiency, enhance data analytics and improve visualization of the data. You will play an active role in the setup and further follow-up of financial indicators in the field of ESG (environmental, social and governance). Finally, the role focuses on the strategical plan financials delivery.


An interesting role where you will be exposed to global challenges in finance and will play a key role in the financial analysis towards the Management Board.

 

Main responsibilities;

 

Execution excellence:

  • Assure timely and accurate financial data collection and processing for full reporting cycle (monthly reporting, budget and operational plan horizon, quarterly forecasts).
  • Supports in developing the long term financial strategic plan in the conjunction with the corporate strategy team
  • Initiate automation projects, process optimization and continuous improvement in the reporting cycle.
  • Implement and maintain internal control measures and continuous risk assessment of processes

 

Analytics;

  • Analyze key financial indicators and Performance for the Group, the individual business units and the corporate departments.
  • Collect, analyze and present key financial KPI related to sustainability and carbon reduction related initiatives
  • Participate to the assessment and the steering of the financial impact of Umicore’s Net-Zero Carbon target.
  • Develop deep understanding of the strategic plan financials to answer all required analysis and explanations related to performance
  • Perform what-if and scenario modelling to advise Management Board
  • Apply innovative technologies and Business Intelligence reporting tools to further enhance data analysis.

 

Innovation;

  • Identify and stay up to date of new technology solutions, following trends of digitalization, for further optimization of analysis, visualization and presentation of performance indicators
  • You challenge the status quo and implement continuous improvement of the processes within Group Control

 

Business Partnering – Networking;

  • Interact frequently with business partners (business units, corporate finance and other corporate departments, legal entities, senior management) to gain a deep understanding of the financial indicators
  • Thorough understanding of business models of the units, combining financial and metal reporting dimensions
  • Present financial indicators to (senior) management

 

Who we are looking for;

 

  • University degree, with a focus on finance, accounting and controlling.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role with significant exposure to finance transformation
  • Experience in accounting / consolidation is a plus
  • Systems minded. Experience with consolidation software, ERP system and / or BI reporting is a plus
  • Fluent in English as well written as spoken
  • Expertise in Microsoft tools, mainly Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
