Your Key Accountabilities

About the Team 

Within Umicore's Enterprise ESG & Sustainability function, the Value Chain Sustainability & ESG Due Diligence team develops and operates the processes, systems, controls, and governance that support responsible sourcing, ESG due diligence, material traceability, chain-of-custody, and related regulatory requirements across Umicore's global value chains. The team helps ensure that sustainability claims, regulatory obligations, and customer commitments are supported by robust data, processes, and controls. 

As traceability requirements continue to expand across battery materials and other strategic materials, the team is building scalable capabilities to support material origin, recycled-content accounting, battery passport requirements, and future chain-of-custody solutions. 

Your Key Accountabilities 

As Traceability & ESG Due Diligence Specialist, you work closely with the broader ESG team, Commercial teams, Supply Chain teams and Operations to ensure traceability processes are executed consistently, accurately, and in an audit-ready manner, to meet regulatory and customer requirements. You will help move the traceability capability from pilot-based delivery to stable operations at scale. 

You will:

• Onboard products, suppliers, material flows, and customer value chains into traceability and mass-balance systems. 
• Execute day-to-day traceability and mass-balance operations, including allocations, reconciliations, reporting, and closing activities. 
• Map material and data flows, define allocation logic, and ensure operational readiness across functions. 
• Maintain traceability records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready evidence required for customers, certifications, and regulatory compliance. 
• Coordinate cross-function data validation, testing, and system implementation activities, including ongoing integration with SAP and other digital solutions. 
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data quality controls using tools such as Power BI. 
• Support responsible sourcing and ESG due diligence activities, including supplier risk screening, assessments, monitoring, and reporting. 
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of traceability processes, governance, systems, and reporting capabilities.

Who we are looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. 
• At least 5 years of experience in supply chain operations, data management, traceability, compliance, sustainability, process improvement, or a related area. 
• Strong affinity for data, systems, reporting, and process management.
• Genuine interest in sustainability, responsible sourcing, or ESG topics.
• Experience working with transactional, operational, or supply-chain datasets. 
• Experience with SAP, Power BI, ERP systems, reporting platforms, or digital workflow tools. 
• Ability to understand data logic, identify inconsistencies, and drive data quality improvements across multiple stakeholders. 
• Proactive, comfortable working independently and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-evolving environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to gain alignment across diverse functions. 
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
