About Rechargeable Battery Materials
We are all on the move. Umicore’s Rechargeable Battery Materials (RBM) give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. What you will be doing
- Project Involvement as project core team member:
- Work in close collaboration with the business project coordinator, the global domain managers, business key users and the RBM Global data steward in the definition of the best conceptual data model
- Build best-in-class ETL packages and dimensional models for self-service BI solutions
- Define test scenario and perform unit and integration testing
- In some cases, act also as project coordinator
- Coordinate efforts with external consultants
- Act as main contact for IS (BI center of excellence team) during all system implementations
- Business Support and going concern role:
- Maintain and administer global and local aspects of the ETL solutions
- Provide first level support. Ensure that all health checks have been created and are closely supervised
- Support the business needs in a timely and efficient manner, tenacity and commitment to quality and excellence
- Manage incoming demands on improvements of existing applications: analyze request, organize functional analysis, estimate and plan developments
- Participate in the Data Engineer circle and share best practices
- Work with other stakeholders to optimize ETL scheduling
- Change request initiation and follow-up – clear communication between IS and business on business needs & requirements. Provide feedback to business regarding approval (or rejection) of changes
- Safeguard process and application know-how
Who we are looking for
- An analytical colleague with:
- Master’s degree in applied computer sciences, in information technology sciences, mathematics or economy
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the ETL and Datawarehouse domains
- Good understanding of self-service BI governance
- You can rely on technical knowledge in the following:
- Data visualization: Qlik Sense and/or Power BI
- Data warehouse: Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Lake
- ETL: TimeXtender (optional: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks)
- Working experience in a service driven, customer oriented environment.
- Knowledge of the ETL/DWH automation/Data preparation tool of choice (TimeXtender for the POCs)
- Business Process minded
- Good technical knowledge about DB connectivity to access different data sources
- Interest in and exposure to industrial activities, processes and technology
