We are currently looking for a QHSSE Expert to join our Battery Recycling Solutions (BRS) team at our Hoboken (Antwerp) site. In this role, you will own Quality & Compliance across BRS, with a primary focus on regulatory compliance, product stewardship and due diligence. You will define the framework, priorities and governance for these topics, while remaining personally involved in complex or high-impact cases. The role combines expert ownership, business partnering and hands-on execution across the BRS value chain.

Your Key Accountabilities

What we expect from you:

• People Manager with deep subject-matter expertise in Quality & Compliance and related regulatory disciplines.

• Drives improvements to compliance frameworks, systems, and processes across BRS.
• Leads complex and often ambiguous issues, requiring independent judgment and expert decision-making.
• Influences internal and external stakeholders with differing priorities to achieve compliant and pragmatic business outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Lead regulatory compliance across BRS, including waste shipments, environmental compliance, and interactions with competent authorities.

• Lead product stewardship activities, including the implementation of the EU Battery Regulation and related reporting obligations.
• Own the due diligence and regulatory affairs framework and represent BRS towards authorities, industry associations, and corporate functions.
• Act as the primary Quality & Compliance business partner to Commercial, supporting compliant customer solutions, contracts, and business decisions.
• Advise management on regulatory developments, compliance risks, and business implications.
• Develop and improve compliance processes, reporting methodologies, and Quality Management System elements.
• Lead complex compliance assessments, audits, investigations, and interactions with authorities.
• Drive harmonization and standardization of Quality & Compliance practices across BRS.
• Coach the QHSSE Professional and remain accountable for the overall quality and effectiveness of the team's output.
• Support GPO Business Flows, including VAT-related requirements and their translation into compliant business processes

Who We Are Looking For

• Master's degree or equivalent experience in Quality, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Law/Compliance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Solid experience in QHSSE, quality systems, environmental compliance, or regulatory compliance within an industrial or technical environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of at least one QHSSE discipline, combined with the ability to connect topics across quality, health, safety, security, and environment.
• Experience with management systems, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action management.
• Ability to work independently on numerous complex, ambiguous, and challenging issues and turn complexity into clear choices and actions.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including situations where interests or priorities differ.
• Proven experience in people management, including coaching, developing and leading team members to achieve high performance and professional growth.
• Pragmatic, structured, and clear communicator with a hands-on mindset and high standards for accuracy and follow-through.
• Fluent in English (both spoken and written) and Dutch is a strong asset.
