What you will be doing

Umicore Battery Materials Finland Oy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager Digitalization to join our team. You will be responsible for defining and implementing digitalization, automation & software driven projects in various departments (Operations, Logistics, R&D, Finance)  that enhances our company's digital presence, improves business processes and increases customer engagement. This role requires a strong focus on leading projects in a challenging and dynamic environment, respecting the governance process but emphasizing pragmatism and tangible deliverables. Engaging both end-users and key management stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, prepare, and coordinate projects and strategic studies autonomously, collaborating closely with BIT and corporate Digitalization and IS teams
• Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria
• Organize the hand-over process at closure to our support organization
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders
• Build and lead cross-functional project teams, assigning responsibilities and fostering a collaborative environment
• Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring clarity of project objectives and tasks
• Motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality outcomes
• Identify and engage key stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and subject matter experts
• Conduct regular status meetings and presentations to provide project updates and gather feedback
• Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during the project lifecycle

Who we are looking for

• University degree in engineering, computer science or related fields with a minimum of 5 years of work experience
• Good knowledge about the use of digital technologies
• Prior work experience in Project and Change Management
• Project management certification is preferred
• Good language skills in English; other languages such as Finnish, Dutch, Polish, Chinese, or Korean are a plus
• Proven track record in managing complex projects (time, scope, cost) in a matrix organization and ability to coach people
• Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Creative thinker in identifying, structuring, and acting on digitalization opportunities
