About Cobalt & Speciality Materials

Mastering the cobalt value chain. Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. Umicore’s materials are at the heart of products we use every day such as rechargeable batteries, tools, paints and tyres. What you will be doing

As our Senior Corporate Accountant & Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting advanced accounting functions in order to facilitate the availability of accurate financial and operational information which is used for management planning and financial reporting.  Specifically, this will include:

  • Maintaining and analyzing costs for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, providing insight into production variances, batch losses, and chemical convesion costs;  
  • Assisting in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling financial projections; 
  • Assisting in cycle counts and periodic inventory valuation checks;
  • Build financial models to evaluate new products, prodcess changes, and cost-reduction initiatives;
  • Performing financial analysis to support capital investments, pricing decisions, and operational improvements; 
  • Supporting chemical procurement costs analysis, including market price movements, commoditiy exposures and hedging; 
  • Assisting with ERP optimization and data integrity for manufacturing, costing, and finance modules; and,
  • Other duties as needed.

Who we are looking for

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenge they face.  As well as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, you should have 4-7 years' experience in accounting or financial analysis.  Experience in chemicals, metals, or heavy manufacturing strongly preferrred.  Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, PowerBi, and Microsoft Dynamics desired.  CPA or CMA preferred.

Additional Information

This full-time position is located on-site at the Palm Commodities International, LLC facility in LaVergne, Tennessee.  This facility is a Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace, and pre-employment drug testing is required.  VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
