About Cobalt & Specialty Materials
Mastering the cobalt value chain. Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. What you will be doing
As our Procurement Specialist, you will be ensuring the timely acquisition of raw materials and resale products, equipment, and services for our chemical manufacturing and distribution business. Specifically, this will include:
- Developing sourcing strategies and researching new suppliers;
- Managing inventory levels and placing refill orders;
- Preparing routine bid specifications and managing bid processes;
- Preparing and processing purchase orders;
- Obtaining quotations, prices, and specifications from suppliers;
- Coordinating with vendors and internal departments regarding incoming shipments; and,
- Other duties as needed.
Who we are looking for
Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenge they face. As well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree;
- At least three years’ purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Strong PC skills with the ability to learn new software quickly;
- Negotiation skills; and,
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Additional Information
This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday day shift located at the Palm Commodities International, LLC facility. The facility is a Drug-Free Workplace, and pre-employment drug testing is required.
