About Cobalt & Specialty Materials

Mastering the cobalt value chain.  Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production, and distribution of cobalt and nickel products.  Umicore’s materials are at the heart of products we use every day such as rechargeable batteries, tools, paints, and tires.  Our recycling and refining processes give new life to cobalt and other metals and reduce environmental impacts.  To meet the demands of our customers we cannot stand still.  We need to find new ways of doing things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. What you will be doing

As our Import/Export Representative, you will perform administrative functions to facilitate the import and export of products for timely delivery.   Specifically, this will include:

  • Arranging international bookings with brokers;
  • Tracking shipments and responding to status requests;
  • Initiating and coordinating international banking transactions;
  • Working with foreign suppliers to obtain necessary shipping documents and create documents as necessary for customs clearance;
  • Distributing pre-delivery notifications and material documentation to receiving facilities;
  • Forwarding instructions to freight vendors and following up on cargo and service documents;
  • Ensuring compliance with Export Administration Regulations;
  • Filing import or export documents as necessary or supplying accurate data to designed filers;
  • Reconciling bills, correcting errors, and assisting in the resolution of billing issues;
  • Maintaining international shipment spreadsheets and files; and,
  • Performing other duties as requested. 

Who we are looking for

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenges they face.  As well a minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent work experience, you should have strong computer skills with customer service or shipping experience.  Exposure to international shipments would be helpful.  We’ll also be looking for strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills.

This is a full-time position at our Palm Commodities International, LLC facility in LaVergne, TN.
