What you will be doing

The main focus of the IS Project Manager and Support Manager will be to lead all aspects of the local IS (Information Systems) operations at the Umicore RBM sites in Canada and to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects, while maintaining excellent client relationships. 
This role is part of the North American IS Support Team and provides additional support on all global IS projects with local impact.

  • Serve as the primary IS point of contact for any local business development projects, which have an IS component
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the local IS infrastructure during the site build-up 
  • Serve as the local representative to the Global IS organization
  • Ensure the local IS infrastructure and support is set up and executed in coordination with the Global IS Team and aligned with global IS standards
  • Coordinate local IS support for the assigned sites in cooperation with the Service Desk and Regional IT Team
  • Engage with business stakeholders as well as subject matter experts from various IS Teams
  • Responsible to define project demand requirements in terms of scope, goals, and work in collaboration with stakeholders and regional team
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multi-functional teams, including IS engineers, developers, and support staff, to ensure project landmarks are met
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and take corrective actions to keep projects on track
  • Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior management, project sponsors and clients
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement
  • Responsible for all knowledge transfer, as part of post-project activities

You must live within commuting distance of Loyalist, Canada.
Occasional international travel may be required (approximately 1 time a year to USA and/or Belgium)

 

Who we are looking for

Functional requirements  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science/information systems or equivalent experience
  • You have at least 5 years' work experience as an IT/IS Project Manager or IT/IS manager; preferably in an industrial company. Must be technically knowledgeable and hands-on
  • Experience in running complex and global IT infrastructure projects
  • Experience in an O365 Environment
  • Analytical skills to understand the interaction between different technological components in IS solutions
  • Confirmed ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are a plus
