About Umicore Battery Materials in Canada

Umicore is preparing to build a battery materials production plant in Loyalist Township, Ontario - the first of its kind in North America. The cutting-edge facility will be a critical part of Canada’s electric vehicle (EV) supply chain. Throughout the design, construction, and operation of the plant, Umicore will be seeking a variety of professionals who share our passion for innovation and sustainability.

What you will be doing

For this new site, we are looking for a Recruitment Center Lead. In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing staffing strategies and innovative sourcing solutions that ensure a proactive approach and sufficient pipeline of talent for the growth of the company in an efficient, qualitative and cost effective manner.  As well as ensuring the smooth operation of the Recruitment Center in Loyalist and the end-to-end recruitment processes taking place in the Recruitment Center.

Responsibilities

• Leading the team of the recruitment center (combined in-house and outsourced profiles)
• Prepare and conduct recruitment strategy and intake meetings with the Hiring Managers
• Oversee daily operations of the recruitment center
• Be in close contact with the business stakeholders and align regularly on recruitment needs, volumes and strategies and cascade the information accordingly to the recruiting team within the recruitment center
• Partner with the business to align on the right sourcing strategy for a particular set of needs, ie. where the use of an external recruitment agency is warranted
• Managing and owning the smooth end-to-end operations of the Recruitment Center in Loyalist
• Ensuring that all the recruitment activities are aligned and following the Umicore Talent Acquisition and Recruitment (quality) standards
• After the job posting internally and externally makes sure to assign the primary TA Recruiter
• Identifying the need for a proactive candidate pool or need to edit/close Evergreen (high volume/ always needed) requisitions
• Maintain a pulse on the current market relevant to Umicore while sensing the business needs to provide actionable intelligence to build a strong potential talent pool

Who we are looking for

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Human resources or other related fields
• At least 8  years of experience in designing and leading talent attraction strategy development and execution
• Minimum of 5 years experience leading a team of high volume recruiters
• Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing, and problem-solving skills
• A natural integrator who can quickly establish relationships with the Umicore business stakeholders and effectively manage external recruitment partners
• Experience with navigating an Applicant Tracking Systems (SAP experience is an asset)
• Comfortable leveraging data and analytics to make a data-driven decision rather than by ‘feel’
• Experience with a variety of selection and recruitment processes
• The ability to effectively lead and coach a team
• Experience in an international, growing environment is an asset
