About Jewellery & Industrial Metals
A wealth of applications. Umicore is an expert in developing products and processes based on precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum. These materials enable our customers to make fine jewellery, coins, high-purity glass and industrial catalysts. Umicore also enables the sustainable and responsible sourcing of these metals and provides closed-loop recycling for our customers. To make the most of these materials we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new processes. Which is where you come in.
What you will be doing
- Perform metal accounting regular checks weekly, investigate and analyze variances.
- Maintain metal weight accounts, perform monthly metal reconciliation and metal reporting.
- Analyze trading profit on a daily basis, review forex transactions to ensure that hedging of forex and metal are done on a timely basis.
- Perform outside refiner accounts reconciliation on a weekly basis to ensure the accuracy of metal weight.
- Work closely with the metal control department to validate the physical counts. Reconcile the counts to system balances and investigate the variances.
- Backup for trading functions, perform daily trading and forex reconciliations.
- Backup for monthly financial reporting.
- Maintain contract renewals and upload to MS SharePoint
- Other duties as required.
Who we are looking for
- 4 year Undergraduate Degree in Commerce or Business Administration
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar position with a focus on financial analysis, reconciliation & auditing
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, ERP system
- CMA, CA, or CPA Designation preferred
- Manufacturing experience an asset
- This position is to cover a paternity leave
