Your Key Accountabilities
- Weigh and load materials for crushing, milling, sifting, and blending.
- Obtain representative samples to ensure efficient processing and quality control of all materials.
- Load and unload materials into furnaces and safely operate related equipment.
- Maintain accurate lot counts and perform weight validation.
- Ensure all safety procedures for handling and processing sweeps lots are consistently followed.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all customer and production materials.
- Liaise with the Refining Manager, as needed, to prioritize lot processing, sweeps documentation, and shipments.
- Use hand tools and operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform regular 5S activities and maintain housekeeping according to company standards.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, ranging from light to very heavy loads.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
- Minimum Grade 12 education, plus at least 2 years of experience (preferably in a sweeps environment).
- Health and Safety training required.
- WHMIS training required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to wear a respirator and all required PPE.
- Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Wage for this position is $21.25 an hour
- This position is to replace a recent vacancy for a fixed term contract
