What you will be doing

  • Control System Design: Review and approve project requirements and approve control system design deliverables, including process controls, instrumentation, automation, and software systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system integration and compatibility.

  • Project Management: Monitor and report project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective measures. Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards.

  • Vendor Management: lead and participate in control system vendors and suppliers for mechanical packages. Coordinate with vendors on hardware and software interfaces, services and technical support.

  • System Implementation: Oversee the FATs,  installation, SATs, commissioning, testing, and start-up of control systems. Monitor with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely completion and adherence to project specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges related to control system design and implementation. Conduct risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and implement risk mitigation strategies. Ensure proper documentation and compliance with risk management procedures.

  • Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluate control system performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Implement system enhancements, upgrades, and modifications to optimize operational efficiency, reliability, and safety. Conduct periodic audits of control system functionality and performance.

 

  • Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to operational staff regarding control system utilization, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Develop training materials and conduct workshops to enhance user knowledge and competence. Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development

  • Electrical System Design: Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems, for Capex projects.

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines, and develop electrical engineering plans to meet project goals

  • Compliance and Codes: Ensure that all electrical & automation designs and installations adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets related to electrical & automation engineering aspects, including cost estimation, procurement, and resource allocation.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential electrical automation hazards and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and reliability of electrical systems.

  • Ensure that project documents are complete and optimal for a competitive and fair tender process.

  • Work with other Engineering teams, integrating the work with other specialties into the final project solution, assuring user deadlines are met and without unexpected delays in production.

  • Execute all assigned tasks, planning and delivering on time, safely, efficiently, reliably and in a cost-effective manner.

  • Propose improvements (procedures, organizational, new technologies, capex, productivity) as appropriate.

  • Capture user feedback and lessons learned for future projects.

  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with environmental, health & safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.

  • Manage vendors & contractors onsite, analyze the potential risk and recommend actions to mitigate the problems from construction (EHS, manpower, logistics …).

  • Perform engineering and technical support to the projects when needed, undertaking any additional tasks related with E&A commensurate with the role as and when required.

 

Who we are looking for

Education: BSc. in automation, electrical or computer engineering with 3+ years working experience after college education in designing or maintenance for a manufacturing/chemical processing company, Master's degree is a plus

Technical skills:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in electrical and automation engineering, with a proven track record in managing Capex projects.

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and electrical simulation tools.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and automation  codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.

  • Project management skills, including budget management and resource allocation

  • Technical experience and/or background in the execution of engineering projects (of specialties above mentioned)

  • Relevant experience and understanding in the execution of industrial projects in operational environments

  • Knowledge of EHS standards, industry good practices and legal requirements applicable to the specialty of focus

  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office package

  • Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.

  • Experience with designing of electrical panels

  • Knowledge of technical aspects of control systems, automation, pneumatics

  • Experience with EPLAN is a plus 

  • Knowledge and understanding of chemistry and industrial engineering

  • Good written and spoken Polish and English communication
