What you will be doing

  • Organizing and quality related developing the preliminary risk assessment (PRA) in cooperation with other peers
  • Controling both the prozess hazard analysis (PHA) and preliminary risk assessment (PRA) teams
  • Secures the organization and efficiency of the PHA/PRA
  • Responsible for the quality and the result of the team efforts
  • Part of the process safety-knowledge group within Umicore
  • Interpretation, implementation and execution of both external (European regulation and polish law) and internal Umicore Guidelines related to process safety management (PSM)
  • Working with key stakeholders to evaluate the technical, safety and regulatory impact of proposed equipment and process changes and advising for needed customization
  • Leading comprehensive Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) & Preliminary risk assessment (PRA) on both exiting processes/facilities and capital projects
  • Participate in and/or lead process safety incident investigations as needed
  • Leading process safety related projects
  • The development and delivery of PSM related training materials to enhance the understanding and effectiveness of the program
  • Represent EHS on PSM issues with other plant stakeholders and coordinate PSM initiatives with peers of other facilities
  • Independently or in conjunction with a Team, use recognized system analysis tools (PROHARA) to identify compliance needs and recommend cost effective, value added, technically feasible, and business-oriented approaches

Who we are looking for

Education: MSc. or BSc. in (safety) engineering with 5+ years operational working experience in a chemical manufacturing plant

 

Technical skills:

  • Qualified PSM competence
  • Capable to steer functional PHA/PRA teams
  • Existing out of people from different departments to moderate and if necessary to be the moderator to come to an agreed solution
  • Experience in conducting HAZOP and SWIFT analysis
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry / chemical processes and can interpret the dangers and risks
  • Can read and understand SOP’s, and is able to ask critical questions towards the content
  • Understands CONTROLS and BPCS systems
  • Good knowledge of machine safety Polish and European regulations
  • Knowledge of design specifications related to process equipment
  • Contact person towards engineering and production departments

  • Social skills with functional authority to be able to work together with different levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated, reasonable, open minded
