What you will be doing

As an Accounting Specialist you will register, analyse and control accounting activities in the areas as Payroll, provisions, fixed assets, cost accounting within the scope of Umicore entities.

You also will: 

• perform account reconciliation and variance analysis and explain the major movements on the balance sheet and P&L accounts
• organize the monthly closing for the assigned scope and is in close relation with the different stakeholders (BU controlling, corporate departments,…)
• draft internal and external reports such as annual reports towards the business units, consolidation, external stakeholders (eg. annual reports) and tax authorities
• proactively manage the operational organization of the accounting activities and implement the adequate controls to ensure correct accounting and reportingbe involed in projects enabling the finance transformation, business expansion, account reconciliation
• communicate and interact with the different business unit and legal entity controllers on the explanation of their figures and on their different accounting projects

Who we are looking for

• a bachelor or master degree in economics or equivalent by experience
• clear understanding and knowledge of the Polish and IFRS accounting rules
• have  3-5 years of experience  in relevant position in manufacturing companies, automotive industry will be a plus
• You are able to work in a highly IS system driven environment (SAP, Cognos, ) as such experience with the new technologies and a strong knowledge of ERP Tools especially in the SAP suite (FI/CO, Fixed Assets,) is required
• You have a very strong technical background in accounting (eg leasing, fixed assets, cost accounting), process and eager to engage in automation projects
• You are a team player who encourages his/her colleagues and seeks for team results
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch, French or German are an asset
