What you will be doing 

OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS/CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT/PREVENT – MAINTAIN & REPAIR

  • Develops maintenance job plans for work scheduling and execution by providing appropriate information. Details required shall include skills required, numbers of craftsmen, estimated job duration, materials or parts requirements, special tools/equipment, work instructions appropriate to the maturity of the workforce, acceptance criteria and essential safety steps. This will allow full schedules to be prepared and enable effective and efficient execution of work which will increase wrench time and optimize cost.
  • Using established guidelines and protocols, plans and assists on preventative maintenance and reliability activities for a department.
  • In accordance with BU/Plant maintenance and reliability strategies, standards and practices, follows routine work steps to prioritize plans and scope maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Reviews all new work requests for planning to ensure appropriate priority for proactive work.
  • Maintain records of mechanical activities as well as work order feedback including labor charges, downtime, etc. in PM SAP
  • Scopes work requests to enable adequate job plan definition.
  • Develops detailed work instructions, within job plans for more complex work, which have clear structure to ensure effective execution.
  • Promotes plant safety incorporating safety plans, hazards and precautions into job plans for safe work execution.
  • Group job plans on the same asset or assets nearby to allow efficient work execution.
  • Ensures alignment of SAP PM records with PM and PdM routes.
  • Updates functional location bills of materials to facilitate future planning.
  • Ensures work order history is updated and feedback from craft is utilized to improve job plans and asset health.
  • Participates in Equipment Reliability Strategy process generating associated PM and PdM program to ensure the most common failure modes are addressed.
  • Provide detailed documentation of all troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Supports, using relevant knowledge, the execution of asset criticality
  • Supports others to assist in scheduling of required maintenance/reliability work activities.
  • Provides relevant knowledge as requested to RCA, RCM, 5Why, 5S, MOC and ECR processes.

PROJECT PLANNING, CONTRACT/VENDOR MANAGEMENT

  • Provides input for preparation of equipment reliability improvement or related projects.
  • Participates in and supports new capital investment project initiatives as required.
  • Participates in planning specific work activities for a project and maintenance work deliverables.
  • Creates and receives requisitions for parts and third party maintenance services as required.
  • Contribute to projects to have the CMMS – SAP PM updated to provide correct asset information

BEST PRACTICE APPLICATION, TRAINING & SUPPORT

  • Incorporates the utilization of consistent maintenance and reliability best practices into work plans(i.e. safety programs, routine safety audits, RCM methodology and FMEA to determine optimum defect elimination strategies)
  • Developing knowledge of and is responsible for gaining an awareness of latest innovations, technology and trends for maintenance and reliability purposes.
  • Supports operations by proactively planning and scheduling downtime and partners with more senior team members to identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce lost production.
  • Maintains SAP PM database acting as Key User if required.
  • Supports precision maintenance skills with relevant knowledge.
  • Documents procedures to provide sustainable processes and maintain essential knowledge.
  • Supports the plant Environmental, Health, Personnel Safety and Product Safety (contamination) processes.

What we expect

High school technical qualification (preferably mechanical or electrical) or equivalent knowledge.

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years maintenance experience (Craftsman position)
  • Good knowledge of Maintenance process and activities.

Technical skills:

  • Core craft skills in mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Understanding operating context of site assets / process systems.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management System.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Condition based technologies such as: Vibration Analysis, Oil
  • Analysis, Infra-Red, Ultra Sound and Motor Circuit Evaluation.
  • Understanding of RCA / RCM / FMEA / C-FMEA
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SAP PM and other tools as needed for his field of activities
