About Rechargeable Battery Materials (RBM)

What you will be doing
In view of the current market transition towards a very large volume market, process technology will be essential for securing what makes us successful.
Depending on the specific function and the needs within the organization, the time spend can shift completely from process R&D to process engineering or vice versa. Together with R&D you will Jointly develop process R&D projects within a technology area. As a specialist your role is to identify, define and set up new process projects as also handle and develop projects on new process technologies. The aim is the upscaling of the process towards large scale industrialization. Umicore encourages innovations so you are always on the lookout for new, exciting and groundbreaking technologies! As a Process engineer you translate process criteria (R&D) into detailed process documentation for the CAPEX projects. Within a specific process technology area, the Process Development Manager actively contributes by:
- Developing new process technologies and industrialize them
- Improving existing process technologies
- Assisting in the setup and deployment of an accurate process documentation system
- Contributing to the definition of the strategy and related technology and cost roadmaps
- Driving the process engineering to support CAPEX projects
- Flow sheet optimizations
Who we are looking for
- PhD degree or master in chemistry, physics, material science, engineering,
- Must have (process) experience within the domain of R&D project management, process technology development and/or process engineering from process design (paper study) to realization (plant start-up)
- Knowledge in process safety
- Good practical use of English
- Able to make decisions for yourself and you team.
- Analytical and critical
- Able to understand the intentions of R&D and transfer them into realistic processes
