What you will be doing
As a Senior Quality Manager you will take the lead for setting up and further improving the Quality organization and systems to match ISO 9001 2015 and Automotive level requirements (IATF/VDA) for Anode battery business, both at the Industrial pilot line and Mass Production! Within this international context, the industrial pilot line functions as a project qualification plant, establishing a global QMS. The Olen team also acts as a remote support partner for the various mass production sites.You will support the organization in preparing for relevant Customer audits, Supplier qualifications and management of complaints. The function will be located in Olen (BE) and will report to the Director Operations of the Anode Battery Materials.
Detailed Responsibilities :
Quality Management :
- Set up and manage the Quality control and assurance for Pilot Line and Mass Production.
- Set up and prepare site in customer audit preparations (IATF 16949 (APQP, PPAP and other core tools) /VDA6.3), in coordination with Business Development department and customer quality contacts
- Coordinate new supplier qualification applying global procedures together with central Supply Quality organization. Define the supplier quality audit plan
- Evaluate the supplier performance through supplier management procedure
- Coordinate supplier quality related issues and manage consolidated communication. Bring up to central functions issues not manageable at site level
- Actively contribute to bridge the gap towards Automotive standards, as a direct OEM supplier, as well as Customer towards the own supply base
- Organize the regular site quality meetings & update of Quality topics
- Follow up on site and inter-site quality related issues and take the lead when needed
- As Quality Management process owner, be responsible for the effective functioning, analyze the associated risks and ensure the achievement of the expected results. Implement continuous assessment and corrective actions with the local team and with other departments on site and global level
Management Systems :
- Establish, maintain and improve a standardized Quality management system
- Representative of Quality Management System & Product Safety and Conformity
- Perform/coordinate internal audits
- Lead site quality related projects (analysis issues, root cause)
- Quality KPI management: set up KPI target, collect site results and dashboard administration trough database
Who we are looking for
- You acquired a Bachelor or Master degree in Quality Management with at least 5 to preferably 10 years of all-round experiences in quality management systems and quality control in the automotive and/or battery industry
- You have very good knowledge of/and detailed experience with the requirements of ISO9001, IATF16949 and VDA, to the extent necessary to manage the assigned process
- You have experience in starting up and building a QMS in a new organisation. You demonstrate a hands-on approach by proactively proposing the right actions and ensuring that the policy is implemented by the teams and meets the requirements set out in the standard QMS aspects.
- You are decisive and pragmatic in motivating and inspiring the teams by translating the standard requirements into practical terms and making them applicable within the organisation.
- Knowledge of the process and risk-based approach
- Qualifications to be Product Safety and Conformity Representative is a plus
- Knowledge of lab analytical systems is a plus
- Willingness to travel abroad
- Knowledge of variety of systems & tools applied in operational excellence (lean 6 sigma, VSM, TOC, TPM, 5S) and experience in implementing continuous improvement within quality management
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good project management skills
- Good communicator, strong interpersonal skills, promotor of cross-department cooperation
- Strong ability to organize and mentor own team and project teams
- Ability to phrase concepts in a structured and clear manner and also build acceptance to change
