What you will be doing

The Plant Controlling Manager reports to the Business Line Manager PMC-HOC, and directly contacts Operations, Quality Control team, Accounting teams and the Management of PMC Tulsa. Additionally, this position interfaces with the global PMC PGM and non-PGM Controlling team in Hanau, as well as Accounting and Operation teams at other PMC sites. 

The Plant Controlling Manager minimizes the financial risks of PMC Tulsa by oversight and leadership to all necessary support and management functions for Finance, Accounting and Controlling activities within PMC Tulsa.

Finance and Controlling

  • Drives business and financial analysis to contribute to the strategic decision making process, develops and implements business optimization plans from a financial perspective.
  • Ensures compliance with local and Umicore accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Responsible for annual budget preparation as requested by Group Control and PMC BU Controlling.
  • Responsible for the coordination and execution of accurate and timely reporting and forecasting for PMC USA.
  • Responsible for Accounting/Costing SAP Masterdata for new part numbers, including validation class, price control, standard cost generation.
  • Responsible for the monthly cost and profit accounting in SAP as well as for the correct valuation of the non PM inventory, including the reconciliation of the FI and COPA reporting. 
  • Safeguards PMC assets. Ensures the policies and procedures are in place to achieve the task. Responsible for the organization of inventory counts.
  • Ensures credit management according to group policies. 

Metal Controlling

  • PGM control of the complete metal processing flows including external refining, flows, and ensure that each metal processing step is timely and accurately booked in SAP
  • Precise control of PGM loss per product and metal. Regular calculation of theoretical metal loss per product, comparison with actual losses, review of key production loss factors, investigation of deviations, taking action for improvement, communication of losses to the sales team
  • Develop actions to optimize the PGM inventories to avoid / reduce leasing costs. WIP control, improving DIO, control on quick processing of refining streams, recommendation on optimal size of production orders versus sales orders where necessary.

 

Who we are looking for

Functional requirements 

  • University degree / Master’s in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration. CPA or MBA designation desired.
  • 7-10 years’ related experience in a financial controlling / accounting fields, in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Working experience with SAP MM, CO, PP, strong Umicore IT knowledge
  • Advanced office computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Very good understanding of production processes. Knowledge of precious metal controlling processes and principles, preferred.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Language skills: English (fluent)
  • Experience working in an internationally operating company.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural environment.
