What you will be doing

 

Sales Activities

  • Negotiates the right premium levels within the given boundaries
  • Establish proper business scheme/conditions with local customers
  • Detects product value at the customer
  • Acts as an escalation path for local customers
  • Locks in the maximum amount of volumes for these prices
  • Develops an org chart for all key accounts and develops active relationships at different levels of the organisation
  • Coordinates with the planning manager on volume allocation conflicts
  • Coordinate local design-in and offshore production with other local sales team
  • Coordinate with back-office on delivery matters
  • Coordinates potential quality topics with the rest of UBM organisation
  • Monitor customers’ and competitors’ business activities
  • Coordinate events to deepen intimacy with customers

Market Development

  • Contacts key local OEM’s to influence them on cathode choice
  • Participates in trade shows and speaking slots
  • Post important UBM press release to local customers
  • Develop an understanding for OEM trends and how these translate into cell requirements

Market Intelligence

  • Maps competitor supply chains
  • Maps cell maker customers design-wins
  • Provides accurate estimates on Umicore price positioning
  • Meets regularly with (non competing) industry peers to discuss market

 

Who we are looking for

Functional requirements  (Education, years of experience in different areas, technical skills, …)

Education background of bachelor's degree or higher

More than 5years experience at sales or purchasing or technical area in chemical or electronic component or battery industry

Fluent in Japanese and English

Personal skills (Behavioural competencies)

Self-starting personality with a can-do mentality

Can work independently

Mindset to try to achieve target and objective by all possible means

Capable of coping with the sometimes conflicting interest between customers and Umicore

Knows how to organize things, even in a fast changing environment

Takes ownership for the task assigned to him/he
