What you will be doing

 

You will be leading the Regional Procurement Center (RPC) of Nysa, providing leadership to both the opex procurement team and the indirect materials warehouse team - 10+ direct reports. In which you will actively & autonomously drive & pursue procurement added value contribution to the internal departments while ensuring business alignment and finetuning/respecting policies, strategies and procedures. 

As part of the RPC European leadership team, you facilitate communication between different procurement entities, identify & capture synergy potential.

 

By doing so, you will realize substantial added value for the organization out of the local portfolio.

 

Main Responsibilities;

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Nysa procurement team to ensure strong performance, engagement, and capability building, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture aligned with Umicore values
  • Ensure effective execution and continuous improvement of procurement and warehousing processes, driving standardization, efficiency, and compliance with Indirect Materials Procurement Policy and Umicore Group Safety standards
  • Ensure reliable supply and operational continuity by proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans in close collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers
  • As an Opex procurement spend owner, identify savings opportunities, support budget planning and tracking in alignment with site and functional objectives
  • Act as a strong business partner by adapting and executing category strategies locally, challenging demand and specifications where relevant, and ensuring alignment with business needs and global procurement direction
  • Actively promote and embed a strong safety culture by ensuring full adherence to safety, environmental, quality, and energy management systems, including strict compliance by suppliers and procurement activities

 

Who we are looking for

 

  • Bachelor or Masters in business or logistics
  • Stong People Management experience
  • Knowledge & experience in procurement is a plus
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in logistics and/or business
  • Knowledge of basic HR and basic accounting is a plus
  • Must be fluent in both oral and written English. Polish is a plus.
  • Capable user of SAP systems - pref. ARIBA
  • Integrity
